Time Management

I should probably be the last person writing about this topic because every time someone asks me how I juggle a full-time job and run two businesses, my answer is always, “I have no f*cking clue.”

But if your life is a little chaotic like mine and you think I have some good ideas I'm just going to share them with you and we’ll see where things go!

I always have a million different ideas flowing in my brain and with the memory capacity of Dory, I need to note it down somewhere before it disappears into the universe. Whenever I think of a task or I have an idea, I write down literally everything on paper, on my notes app, or on the wall if I have to so I can remember it later. Making lists has honestly saved my life and definitely limits my anxiety. Yes, keyword “lists”.

On top of that, I need more than 1 calendar. On average, I have about 3. Half of the time I don't even remember what day it is and the other half of the time, I get so caught up with all of my other work that I tend to forget about other things that are scheduled during the week. You could say, I get lost in the sauuuuce. I kid you not, I even schedule what my weekends will look like. I’m one of those psychopaths that plan out every minute of the day to make sure things go smoothly and everything is accomplished.

I think organizing events and ideas is the key to maximizing each day. But in the middle of it all, I also like to seize the day and live life as spontaneously as I can. It’s all about finding a healthy balance.

This doesn't mean I'm a perfectionist by any means. I mean I try to be, but it never works out well. I tend to also bite off more than I can chew which definitely does not help the whole "time management” situation. Call me “ambitious” or an “overachiever,” but everyone has their own way of functioning.

Though, 2 things I’ve been reminded of recently have really helped my structure and mindset.

  1. If it takes you less than a minute to do, do it now. Otherwise, next thing you know you’ll have 30 minutes of little minuscule tasks to address

  2. It’s okay to say “no” to things. Easier said than done because I get excited about practically everything and love to be involved, but sometimes FOMO will have to do.

This post might honestly might just be me rambling for all I know, but I hope it helped you map out any chaotic thoughts you may have.
